Springing For Hope

Today is gloomy, but the rest of the days have been gorgeous! I have been trying to take some time for myself and spend some afternoons outside. I'm grateful for our new community and the fact that my boys can head to friends' houses after school while I take Marley for a good long walk. She and I enjoy the sun shining, saying hello to new neighbors, and she definitely loves all the extra love she's been getting.

I'm also feeling hopeful because I am getting my vaccine next week. I know that this is a choice that not everyone is making, and I feel grateful for the opportunity. I'm grateful for the friend who helped me find an appointment (thanks, Jessica). I can't wait to see friends and family that I haven't seen in a while. I can't wait to get on an airplane again. I can't wait to put this stressful year behind us.

If you followed along on our old sites, you might have seen me write a lot about gratitude. Sometimes I fall off track and forget to be grateful-focusing instead on things that annoy me. Nicole, the co-publisher of Arundel Kids, reminded me so many times in the last year by asking me to name three things that I'm grateful for in that moment.

So in celebration of Spring, in celebration of hope, in celebration of my friendships that have kept me grounded this last year, here are my three things today:

  • I'm grateful for time spent with my best friend this week-catching up after a year over a margarita was just plain good for my soul.

  • I'm grateful for my new home that has room for entertaining the people I love when the time comes.

  • I'm grateful for my boys who keep me on my toes (and sometimes keep me in tears) but who still snuggle with me each and every morning.

What are you grateful for today?

xoxo,

Katy
