See The World's Largest Christmas Light Maze in DC This Holiday Season
Enchant, the world’s largest Christmas light maze and village, returns to the
Nation’s Capital with an all-new, immersive experience featuring more than four million sparkling lights.
Enchant will be open through January 1 at Nationals Park. The event also includes an impressive 100-foot-tall holiday tree—the tallest in the region, surpassing even the 60-foot Capitol and White House trees—as well as a unique ice-skating trail, live entertainment, Santa visits, and a holiday shopping marketplace with crafts, gifts, and culinary treats, including festive holiday beverages and cocktails in special lightbulb cups.
This year marks Enchant’s third year in D.C. Between 2019 and 2021, more than 600,000 visitors have experienced this one-of-a-kind holiday event. Washington, D.C. is one of seven cities around the country hosting the holiday extravaganza, which includes Dallas, St. Petersburg, Las Vegas, Sacramento, San Jose, Scottsdale, and Nashville.
The event is produced annually on playing fields of major league sports stadiums and iconic outdoor spaces. The Enchant adventure begins with an interactive, story-themed “Christmas Light Maze,” where visitors stroll through lighted tunnels, larger-than-life displays, and other special surprises along the way—including some portions that are unique to the Washington event. Also new for D.C. this year is the immersive story of “Santa’s Magic Timepiece,” in which Father Christmas is given the power to deliver presents around the world in one night.
As the story goes, the timepiece has broken into pieces, so Santa needs help to find the missing parts to send him on his way. Visitors become the helpers to give this story a happy ending.
This year, Enchant will be joined by its first-ever national sponsor, the Hallmark Channel. The popular television network will offer guests a variety of custom experiences, including a “Hallmark Cozy Christmas” lounge, photo opportunities, a Hallmark Channel wine tasting and a chance for fans to win a set visit to a Hallmark movie while in production.
“Hallmark Channel is the perfect partner to join Enchant across America this year. It’s an amazing brand fit in every way with the premium, experiential holiday celebration we’ve created,” said LeeAnne Stables, chief marketing officer for Enchant. “We have so many fun surprises waiting for their millions of fans, including that Hallmark classic—delicious mugs of Enchant hot chocolate ready to go.”
