i9 Sports - The Best Way To Try New Sports
By Katy Agro Myers
My boys have been playing soccer for a few years and they are so into it. But this year, when my oldest came home from middle school saying he wanted to play football, and the twins also chimed in and wanted to play, well we had to figure out a way to juggle multiple sports!
Three kids, two sports - how does one make all those practices and games work with the rest of life? Homework, religious education, playing outside, dinner, projects, chores. It's overwhelming to look at the schedule! That's why I LOVE i9 Sports! It makes sports easy!
Schedule: The beauty of i9 programs is that it's the same schedule every week. One hour of practice and 45 minutes of scrimmage. Every weekend on the same day at the same time. There's no waiting for the coach to post the game schedule. There's no trying to make plans for the weekend around 4 different times. It's the same time. Same day. Every week. Can it get any easier than that?
Learning: i9 provides a structured curriculum of sports education for the coaches each week so that they are working on specific skills and sportsmanship attributes.
Starting at age 3, the i9 Sports curriculum for the youngest age group is designed to grow with the child teaching skills and gameplay. For the Pee Wees, i9 focuses on introducing your child to the sport while providing instruction through activities and drills that keep kids learning and having fun.
For the junior age group, i9 offers programming designed to keep kids learning the fundamentals of the sport and understanding the dynamics of working as a team all while having fun. The curriculum teaches your child that winning and losing are part of the game, but it’s how you do it that sets you apart from others.
The #1 reason kids play sports is to have fun. It is not surprising then, that the number one reason they quit is that they stop enjoying it. The senior curriculum gives our oldest age group opportunities to build on their skills and grow as an athlete all while continuing to love the game.
FUN!
My boys - all three have had SO much fun trying out the gridiron this spring. It was a great way for them to try a new sport, without a lot of pressure, and make new friends!
